FutureWise: Inspiring Futures

Thursday 8th March 2018

Springfield's Event Centre, Spalding, PE12 6ET

As well as raising awareness of Higher Education, this event will showcase exciting career opportunities for young people as they make important decisions over the next few years. The event is open to 200 Level 3 learners from the region's sixth forms and colleges, looking to further knowledge of their educational progression routes including Level 4 options, Higher and Degree Apprenticeships, Employer and Graduate opportunities. Knowledge of these pathways will enhance the attendees understanding of the world of work and influence their decisions to study at a higher level.

Lincolnshire is a predominantly rural area with limited exposure to national companies and initiatives. This event, coupled with the presence of high profile employers, would be hugely exciting for young people around the county and perhaps the first time they have been exposed to such an opportunity. The young people attending will be invited from a select group of target schools, whom LiNCHigher has been working with since January 2017.

In an increasingly competitive employment marketplace, the young people attending this event would benefit immensely from the knowledge of the employers present and would be inspired to make informed decisions towards their future goals.

Attendees will have the opportunity to network with the following organisations who have all confirmed their attendance:

Google

JD Wetherspoons

Bakkavor

GTI

The University of Lincoln

Bishop Grosseteste University

The RAF

The Lindum Group

Lincolnshire Police

Ernst and Young

A full list of employers will be confirmed by the end of December 2017
