Dozens of families from across Lincolnshire were inspired, motivated and educated at LiNCHigher’s Find Your Future #ThinkBIG celebration afternoon in Skegness on March 10th.

Gogglebox star Baasit Siddiqui held an interactive workshop while Think2Speak’s Lizzie Jordan and motivational speaker Luke Staton gave inspirational talks.

Families then got to enjoy a free carvery and raffle at the end of the event and were given the chance to talk with the guest speakers at the informal afternoon.

Several education providers across the county also had stalls at the event, allowing the young people to explore further education options.

The event aimed to get families more engaged with their child’s education in a relaxed atmosphere.

Think2Speak's Lizzie Jordan told her inspirational story and educated families on how they can support each other.

Baasit Siddiqui, well-known for being on Channel 4’s Gogglebox as well as running Siddiqui education, said: “It was an absolute pleasure to be part of the Find Your Future event.

“As a teacher for over a decade I have worked hard to teach and motivate children in to building their aspirations

“I was inspired to see so many parents and carers join their children to gain an insight in to their possible future ventures and to help encourage them to acknowledge and develop new skills.

“It was great to see so many families interact discuss and celebrate their strengths and to acknowledge areas of development.”

LiNCHigher’s Project Officer for the Community and event co-ordinator, Jessica Darnell, said: “We’d like to thank all of the families and guest speakers for taking their time out of their weekend to attend our event.

“The celebration afternoon was a huge success and very well attended and it was a great opportunity for families to network and receive guidance and support.

“We would also like to thank all of the organisations for their kind donations for our raffle draw and we hoped everyone who attended had a fun, enjoyable afternoon.
