Peele Community College students sentenced to interactive law-based workshop

Area Engagement Officers Ellis Potter and Maizie Wilson deliver workshop at Peele Community College

Year 9 students from Peele Community College were introduced to the subject of law by LiNCHigher as part of their Super Learning Day on April 2.

The students participated in a workshop where they were given a scenario and had to decide which punishment the culprits deserved.

The aim of the workshop was to educate the pupils in a subject they would not have encountered before and raise aspirations for those who may choose to study Law in Further and Higher Education.

Also going on throughout the day was an inspirational talk from The Apprentice semi-finalist, Khadija Kalifa.

The Bourne-based entrepreneur spoke passionately about her time on the hit BBC One TV show and how she started up her own successful cleaning business four years ago.

Finance4Kids and Mad4Life also came into the school to educate the Year 9 students on managing their finances and effective revision tips.

Area Engagement Officer, Maizie Wilson, said: "The Super Learning Day at Peele Community College was a really good and productive day and we were really pleased how well the workshop went.

"It was great to be able to help young people motivate themselves in lifelong learning with skills outside of the curriculum.

"Thank you to Peele Community College for allowing us to attend the event, and thank you to the other providers for attending the day."
